There are many who do not recognize who the RUACH ha’Kodesh (The Holy Spirit) truly is; and there is another movement circulating saying that He is just some force and not a third Person of the ELOHIM head. So we will examine the scriptures as always to see if this is true. Many will say “well we don’t pray to The Holy Spirit” and that is true and no one has made that claim, because we know that The RUACH ha’Kodesh is living inside of us helping us to pray as Paul says in Romans 8:26; however, it does not negate the fact that He is still ELOHIM!
Also, throughout this article I will be calling The Holy Spirit by what He is called in Hebrew and that is The RUACH ha’Kodesh: pronounced (Roo-ach, ha-ko-desh).
Mathew 12:31-32
“Because of this I say to you, all sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven men, but the blasphemy against the RUACH shall not be forgiven men. And whoever speaks a word against the Son of Man, it shall be forgiven him, but whoever speaks against the RUACH ha’Kodesh, it shall not be forgiven him, either in this age or the age to come.”
Mark 3:29
“But he who blasphemes against the RUACH ha’Kodesh has not forgiveness forever, but is subject to everlasting judgment,” because they said, “He has an unclean spirit.”
So this applies for those who say that believers are casting out demons by a demon and in doing so they are saying that the RUACH ha’Kodesh in an unclean spirit. But it also goes deeper because YESHUA used the word blasphemy while referring to The RUACH ha’Kodesh and it is an unforgivable act because the RUACH ha’Kodesh is living inside of you. What is the definition of blasphemy?
What know that one definition is claiming to be ELOHIM! John 10:33 records “The Jews answered Him, saying, “We do not stone You for a good work, but for blasphemy, and because You, being a Man, make Yourself ELOHIM.”
And Merriam-Webster defines blasphemy as- refers to a great disrespect to ELOHIM or to something holy, or to something said or done that shows this kind of disrespect. And Wikipedia agrees saying- the act of insulting or showing contempt or lack of reverence to a deity.
Firstly, we see that YESHUA was accused of blasphemy because the Jews because they thought He was a man claiming to be ELOHIM, so we can see that blasphemy is an attack on something divine! And YESHUA says you cannot blaspheme The RUACH ha’Kodesh, so based off that definition of scripture that would make RUACH ha’Kodesh ELOHIM as well; because He has the same nature as The Father and The Son. And based off the other definitions is what many are doing today by showing a great deal of disrespect towards the RUACH ha’Kodesh by treating Him as an object, saying He is an “It” a “force” or a “thing” which is denying His Holy nature of ELOHIM! The RUACH ha’Kodesh has been forgotten and He is instrumental in our walk with YESHUA otherwise YESHUA would have made the promise to send Him to us after He ascended into heaven.
Just as we discussed last week about the word Echad in Hebrew, it’s important that we do a refresher for us to understand who the RUACH ha’Kodesh is:
Genesis 2:22-23
“And the rib which YAHWEH ELOHIM had taken from the man He made into a woman, and He brought her to the man. And the man said, “This is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh. This one is called ‘woman’, because she was taken out of man.” For this cause a man shall leave his dad and mother, and join unto his wife, and they shall become ONE (ECHAD) flesh.”
Most people read this scripture with a Western mindset and automatically assume this a singular form of “one” however, The Holy Scriptures have an “Eastern” mindset that must be applied when reading it. Echad in Hebrew is a “Unity Oneness” or a “Compound Unity”. Compound is defined as a thing that is composed of two or MORE SEPARATE elements”!
We know that Adam and Eve did not literally morph into one body and become one person! They were still two separate beings but one flesh through the marriage! Therefore, the same thing applies with our ELOHIM of Yisra’el. There is YAHWEH the Father, YESHUA the Son, and The RUACH ha’Kodesh. They are three separate Persons yet ONE (ECHAD) ELOHIM!
John 14:16-17
“And I shall ask The Father, and He shall give you ANOTHER (ALLOS) Helper, to stay with you forever- the RUACH of Truth, whom the world is unable to receive, because it does not see Him or know Him. But you know Him, for He stays with you and shall be in you.”
The word that YESHUA used for “Another” is the Greek word Allos. Allos in Greek #243 means other, another (OF MORE THAN TWO) different. So the Greek translation of the word that YESHUA used was Allos that agrees with the Hebrew word “Echad” a compound unity of two or more! Allos clearly says “OF MORE THAN TWO” So more than two would be three (YAHWEH The Father, YESHUA The Son, and RUACH ha’Kodesh.)
The Otiot which is the original pictograph language/sacred signs of our Father YAHWEH! Has 22 characters, that represent the name of the character, what the character means, the function of the character, and also represents a number. Which gives us further details below:
Aleph is a picture of an Ox head that represents YAHWEH, power and strength and is also the Number “1”.
Beyt is the picture of a house or tent that represents YESHUA and is also the Number “2”
So Aleph (1) + (2) Beyt=3 and what does the number 3 represent?
Gimel is a picture of a man’s foot and represents the RUACH ha’Kodesh, it has to do with your walk towards ELOHIM or away from ELOHIM, and the number 3. The Otiot agrees that the RUACH ha’Kodesh proceeds from both The Father and The Son!
Furthermore the word ELOHIM in Hebrew means MIGHTY ONE’S (plural) and the ELOHIM spelled using the same Otiot is spelled “Mem, Yod, Hey, Lamed, Aleph” and in Hebrew we read from right to left. And right in the middle of the word ELOHIM is “Hey” which is a Spiritual man with his arms raised, which means “Look! Behold! 5th dimensions of Spirit (The Father is Spirit and seeks those who worship Him in spirit.) Therefore, built right into the middle of the word ELOHIM is “Behold! Look at what YAHWEH does and makes through His RUACH.” Just as we see the RUACH ha’Kodesh was there during creation and was Co-Creator with The Father and YESHUA as we already know YESHUA was there because all things were created through Him (John 1 and Colossians 1).
Genesis 1:2
“And the earth came to be formless and empty, and darkness was on the face of the deep. And the RUACH of ELOHIM was moving on the face of the waters.”
Right here in the beginning of creation we already see the RUACH ha’Kodesh is operating separately from the Father, but still of the Father as He called the Spirit of ELOHIM. All proof of the Father, Son and RUACH ha’Kodesh being three separate Persons yet One (Echad) ELOHIM!
Other examples:
Isaiah 48:16
“Draw near to Me, and hear these words; I have not spoken in secret from the BEGINNING: when it took place, there was I, and now Adonai, even YAHWEH, and His RUACH, has sent Me.”
Firstly we see that this is YESHUA speaking and He says that He has not spoken in secret from the beginning, which is true because we discussed last week that nobody has seen the Father at any time, so they saw YESHUA; and secondly, YESHUA clearly identifies YAHWEH The Father and The RUACH ha’Kodesh that sent Him, and since He is speaking then that makes 3 separate Persons!
Mathew 3:16-17
“And having been immersed, YESHUA went up immediately from the water, and see, the heavens were opened, and He saw the RUACH of YAHWEH descending like a dove and coming upon Him, and see, a voice out of the heavens, saying “This is My Son, the Beloved, in whom I delight.”
We see that the dove that descended from the heavens was the RUACH ha’Kodesh coming upon YESHUA and then we hear the voice of YAHWEH saying “This is My Son”. So therefore we see ELOHIM, The Father, The Son, and The RUACH ha’Kodesh at ONE time yet separate from each other.
John 14:26
“But the Helper, the RUACH ha’Kodesh, whom the Father shall send in My Name, He shall teach you all, and remind you of all that I said to you.”
We see a clear picture of YAHWEH the Father, sending the RUACH ha’Kodesh in YESHUA’s Name and we can again see three separate Persons!
Mathew 28:19
“Therefore, go and instruct all the nations, immersing (baptizing) them in the Name of the Father and of the Son and of the RUACH ha’Kodesh.”
Looking further into the translations
Exploringthetruth.org says:
There is a role that the Holy Spirit plays which is deserving of special attention, that of Allos Parakletos (Another Helper). Allos is a Greek work which means “another” and parakletos means helper. There is another Greek word that can also be translated “another.” That word is heteros. It is telling that YESHUA chose allos instead of heteros in describing the Holy Spirit as a comforter.
Heteros means “another of a different kind” while allos means “another of the same kind” By calling the Holy Spirit allos YESHUA was saying that the Holy Spirit was exactly like Him. Indeed, that was the reason why the disciples were COMFORTED—they knew that even though their comforter, master, and friend YESHUA was leaving, another one who was exactly like Him was going to take his place to comfort, counsel, help, intercede for, advocate for, strengthen, and be a stand-by support for them.
The Father is the Begetter, the Son is the Begotten, and the Holy Spirit is the one proceeding from the Father and the Son. Therefore, because these three persons in the ELOHIM head are in a state of unity, there is but one YAHWEH ELOHIM Almighty and His name one.
YESHUA did not speak His own words and neither did the RUACH ha’Kodesh!
John 12:49-50
“Because I spoke not from Myself, but the Father who sent Me has given Me a Command, what I should say and what I should speak. And I know that His Command is everlasting life. Therefore, whatever I speak, as the Father has said to Me, so I speak.”
John 14:24
“He who does not love Me does not guard My words. And the Word which you hear is not Mine but of the Father who sent Me.”
John 16:13-14
“But when He comes, the RUACH of the Truth, He shall guide you into all truth. For He shall NOT SPEAK FROM HIMSELF, but whatever HE HEARS He shall speak, and He shall announce to you what is to come. He shall esteem Me, for He shall take of what is Mine and announce it to you.”
Did you notice the similarities between YESHUA and the RUACH ha’Kodesh? YESHUA did not speak His own words, He spoke the words of His Father YAHWEH; and The RUACH ha’Kodesh did not speak His own words, He spoke the words of YESHUA! This is truly beautiful how our ELOHIM works as They work in unison as ONE ELOHIM!
1 Corinthians 12:3
“Therefore I make known to you that no one speaking by the RUACH of ELOHIM says YESHUA is a curse, and no one is able to say that YESHUA is Master except by the The RUACH ha’Kodesh.”
The RUACH ha’Kodesh and His Role
Daniel 4:18
“This dream have I seen, I, King Nebukadnetstasar. And you, Belteshatstsar, reveal its interpretation, since all the wise ones of my reign are unable to make known to me the interpretation. But you are able, for the RUACH of the Holy ELAH is IN YOU.”
Exodus 41:38
“And the Pharaoh said to his servants, “Could we find another like him, a man whom is the RUACH of ELOHIM.”
John 16:7-10
“But I say the truth to you. It is better for you that I go away, for if I do not go away, the Helper shall not come to you at all, but if I go, I shall send Him to you. And having come, He shall reprove the world concerning sin, and concerning righteousness, and concerning judgment-concerning sin because they do not believe in Me, concerning righteousness because I go to My Father and you see Me no more.”
The RUACH ha’Kodesh leads us into all truth, He inspired men to write the scriptures, He reproves the world concerning sin, He gets you to stop walking in the flesh and leads you to keep the commandments of the Torah, and He brings esteem to YESHUA! He, The RUACH ha’Kodesh is critical in our walk with YESHUA! So let’s look at some of scriptures to show that He is living and not some object or force.
The RUACH ha’Kodesh speaks:
Ezekiel 3:23-24
“So I got up and went out into the plain, and see, the esteem of YAHWEH stood there, like the esteem which I saw by the river Kevar, and I fell on my face. And the RUACH entered me and stood me on my feet, and SPOKE with me and said to me, “Go shut yourself inside your house.”
Mark 13:11
“And when they lead you away and deliver you up, do not worry beforehand what you are going to say. But whatever is given you in that hour, speak that, for it is NOT YOU WHO ARE SPEAKING, BUT THE RUACH HA’KODESH.”
Acts 13:2
“And as they were doing service to the Adon (Master) and fasted, the RUACH ha’Kodesh SAID, “Separate unto Me Barnabas and Paul for the work to which I have called them.”
Acts 28:25-27
“And disagreeing with one another, they began to leave, after Paul had spoken one word, “The RUACH ha’Kodesh rightly SPOKE through Isaiah the prophet to our ancestors, saying, ‘Go to this people and saying. “hearing you shall hear but by no means understand, and seeing you shall see but by no means perceive, for the heart of this people has become thickened, and with their ears they heard heavily, and they have closed their eyes, lest they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and turn back, and I should heal them.”
Acts 8:29
“And the RUACH SAID to Phillip “Go near and join him in that chariot.”
Acts 1:16
“Men and brothers, this Scripture had to be filled which the RUACH ha’Kodesh SPOKE before by the mouth of David concerning Judah, who became a guide to those who seized YESHUA…”
The RUACH ha’Kodesh teaches:
John 14:26
“But the Helper, the RUACH ha’Kodesh, whom the Father shall send in My Name, He shall TEACH you all, and remind you of all that I said to you.”
1 Corinthians 2:13
“Which we also speak, not in words which man’s wisdom teaches but which The RUACH ha’Kodesh TEACHES, comparing spiritual with spiritual.”
Someone has to be living in order to teach you something and talk to you, I have never seen a shoe or an inanimate object be able to teach someone anything. People will also say don’t get caught up on pronouns, but again I have never seen anyone call a shoe a “he.” That is because the shoe is not living Person.
The RUACH ha’Kodesh thinks/make decisions:
Romans 8:26-27
“And in the same way the RUACH helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray, but the RUACH HIMSELF, pleads our case for us with groaning’s unutterable. And He who searches the hearts KNOWS WHAT THE MIND OF THE RUACH IS, because He makes intercession for the saints according to ELOHIM.”
As we see from the scripture above is the RUACH ha’Kodesh has a mind; therefore, He is able to think and make decisions. No force, chair, shoe, or object as a mind, yet we see that the RUACH ha’Kodesh as one which should open up some eyes.
Acts 15:28
“For it SEEMED GOOD to the RUACH ha’Kodesh, and to us, to lay upon you no greater burden than these necessities…”
1 Corinthians 12:7-11
“And to each one is given the manifestation of the RUACH for profiting, for to one is given a word of wisdom through the RUACH, and to another a word of knowledge according to the same RUACH, and to another belief by the same RUACH, and to another gifts of healing by the same RUACH, and to another operations of powers, and to another prophesy, and to another discerning of spirits, and to another kinds of tongues, and to another interpretation of tongues. But one and the same RUACH works all these, distributing to each one individually as HE INTENDS.”
Acts 16:7
“When they came to Musia, they tried to go into Bithunia, but the RUACH did not allow them.”
The RUACH ha’Kodesh grieves:
Ephesians 4:30
“And do not GREIVE The RUACH ha’Kodesh of ELOHIM, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.”
Here The RUACH ha’Kodesh is shown to have emotions! When you are living a life of sin and not doing the will of YAHWEH then He is grieved by your disobedience. The RUACH ha’Kodesh would have be living and be His own Being to have emotions, just like our Father YAHWEH and YESHUA! YAHWEH voiced His anger, wrath, and displeasure when the children of Yisra’el would sin, YESHUA showed anger when they turned His Father’s House into a den of thieves and flipped over the tables, He also wept went Lazarus died, and the RUACH ha’Kodesh as those same emotions. To put this in perspective you will never find a shoe or a table grieving over anything because they are just objects.
The RUACH ha’Kodesh bears witness:
John 15:26-27
And when the Helper comes, whom I shall send to you from the Father, The RUACH of the Truth, who comes from the Father, He shall bear witness of Me, but you also bear witness, because you have been with me from the beginning.”
The RUACH ha’Kodesh gives power:
Acts 1:8
“But you shall receive power when the RUACH ha’Kodesh has come upon you, and you shall be My witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judah and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”
YESHUA said that we will receive power when the RUACH ha’Kodesh comes upon us just the RUACH fell upon selected men in the Old Covenant. They were then able to deliver Yisra’el from their enemies with extra power that they could not do on their own strength. The same way we cannot do anything on our own strength, we need The RUACH ha’Kodesh. So be thankful for the gift of The RUACH ha’Kodesh that YESHUA promised to send for all who believe and get immersed.
Zechariah 4:6
“And he answered and said to me, “This is the word of YAHWEH to Zerubbabel, “Not by might nor by power, but by My RUACH,’ said YAHWEH Sabaoth.”
Judges 3:9-10
“And when the children of Yisra’el cried out to YAHWEH, YAHWEH raised up a savior for the children of Yisra’el who saved them: Othni’el son of Kenaz, Caleb’s younger brother. And the RUACH of YAHWEH came upon him (just as YESHUA spoke in Acts 1), and he ruled Yisra’el and went out to battle, and YAHWEH gave into his hand Kushan-Rish’athayim king of Aram Naharayim. And his hand prevailed over Kushan-Rish’athayim.”
Judges 11:29
“And the RUACH of YAHWEH came upon Yiphtah and he passed through Gilead and Manasseh and pass through Mitspet of Gilead. Verse 32 Yipthtah then passed on toward the children of Ammon to fight against them and YAHWEH gave them into his hands.”
Judges 14:5-6
“Then Samson went down to Timnah with his dad and mother, and came to the vineyards of Timnah, and see, a young lion came roaring at him. And the RUACH of YAHWEH came mightily upon him, and he tore it apart as the tearing apart of a young goat, with nothing in his hand.”
1 Samuel 11:6
“And the RUACH of ELOHIM came upon Paul mightily as he heard these words, and his displeasure burned greatly.”
The RUACH ha’Kodesh causes you speak in tongues and prophesy:
2 Peter 1: 20-21
“Knowing this first, that no prophecy of Scripture came to be of one’s own interpretation, for prophecy never came by the desire of man, but men of ELOHIM spoke, being moved by the RUACH ha’Kodesh.
Acts 2:4
“And they were all filled with the RUACH ha’Kodesh and began to speak with other tongues, as the RUACH gave them to speak.”
Numbers 11:14-17
“I am unable to bear all these people alone, because the burden is too heavy for me. And if You are doing this to me, please slay me altogether, if I have found favor in Your eyes, and let me not see my evil! Then YAHWEH said to Moses, “Gather to Me seventy men of Yisra’el, whom you know to be the elders of the people and officers over them. And bring them to the Tent of Appointment, and let them stand there with you. And I shall come down and speak with you there, and shall take of the RUACH that is upon you, and put on them. And they shall bear the burden of the people with you, so that you do not bear it yourself alone.” Verse 25 “And YAHWEH came down in the cloud, and spoke to him, and took of the RUACH that was upon him, and placed the same upon the seventy elders. And it came to be when the RUACH rested upon them, that they prophesied, but did not continue.”
Acts 19:6
“And when Paul had laid hands on them, the RUACH ha’Kodesh came upon them, and they were speaking in tongues and prophesied.”
Conclusion:
Now that we see that the RUACH ha’Kodesh is a Person and the third member of the ELOHIM head and not an object! Do not blaspheme Him but rather give thanks to our Father YAHWEH for sending us this wonderful gift! Let Him teach you and lead you into all truth. And if you have not already done so, make sure that you are immersed (baptized) in the Name of YAHWEH, YESHUA, and the RUACH ha’Kodesh is we read in Mathew 28.
John 3:5-7
“YESHUA answered, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the RUACH, he is unable to enter into the reign of ELOHIM. That which has been born of the flesh is flesh, and that which has been born of the RUACH is spirit. Do not marvel that I said to you. ‘You have to be born from above.”
Acts 2:38
“And Peter said to them, “Repent, and let each one of you be immersed (baptized) in the Name of YESHUA ha’Mashiach for the forgiveness of sins. And you shall receive the GIFT of the RUACH ha’Kodesh.”
David knew the importance of the RUACH ha’Kodesh just as followers of YESHUA should today. David understood that he could not do anything on his own strength and he knew the power and the role of the RUACH ha’Kodesh just as we have outlined from all of the scriptures above.
Psalms 51:11
“And do not take Your RUACH ha’Kodesh from me.”
Psalms 143:10
“Teach me to do Your good pleasure, For You are my ELOHIM. Let your good RUACH lead me in the land of straightness.”
